A flavorful and tangy orange chicken dish with crispy coating and a zesty sauce, perfect for a quick dinner.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 2 green onions sliced green onions
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions 

  • Mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and ginger powder.
  • Coat chicken in the mixture and cook in hot oil until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • Whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and orange zest to make the sauce.
  • Simmer the sauce until slightly thickened, then add the chicken and toss to coat.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot over rice.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of orange juice to the sauce while simmering.
