Ingredients

Apples

  • 4 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced into small cubes

Optional toppings

  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (for serving)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine sliced apples and lemon juice in a bowl.
  • Add sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg; toss to coat.
  • Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt; cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  • Spread apples in a baking dish, top with crumb mixture, and bake 40-45 mins until golden.
