A creamy, cheesy comfort food classic made with Velveeta and sharp white cheddar, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 226 g uncooked macaroni
  • 43 g unsalted butter
  • 23 g flour
  • 590 ml milk
  • 6 g onion powder
  • 5 g garlic powder
  • 2-4 g Creole seasoning (optional)
  • 450 g Velveeta cheese, diced
  • 230 g sharp white cheddar cheese, grated and divided
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  • Cook macaroni in boiling salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  • Melt butter in a skillet, whisk in flour, and cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in milk, simmer until slightly thickened, then turn off heat.
  • Add Velveeta and ¾ of the cheddar, stir until melted and smooth.
  • Stir in onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, and optional Creole seasoning. Mix in cooked pasta, then transfer to a greased dish, top with remaining cheese, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12 minutes.

Notes

For a crispy topping, sprinkle breadcrumbs and broil for 1-2 minutes before serving.
