A delicious baked spaghetti pie combining pasta, cheese, and savory meat sauce for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Pasta and Dairy

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Meat and Sauce

  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 cup marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Garnish

  • Chopped parsley (optional) Chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook spaghetti until al dente, drain, toss with butter, then press into a greased pie dish.
  • Mix spaghetti with eggs and Parmesan, then layer in dish. Spread cottage cheese over crust.
  • Cook meat with sauce and seasonings, then pour over cottage cheese. Top with mozzarella.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden. Cool slightly, garnish, and serve.

Notes

For a lighter version, use part-skim cheese and lean meat.
