A comforting and hearty dish combining creamy cheddar cheese with baked beans and pasta for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Dry Pasta

  • 1 lb elbow macaroni
  • Kosher salt, for boiling water Kosher salt (for boiling water)

Cheese

  • 1 lb sharp yellow cheddar cheese

Canned Goods

  • 2 cans evaporated milk (divided)
  • 1 can bush's baked beans (28 oz can, divided)
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard or dry mustard powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper (plus more if needed)

Instructions 

  • Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente, then drain.
  • In a saucepan, whisk together evaporated milk, flour, mustard, salt, and pepper over medium heat until thickened.
  • Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Add baked beans to the cheese sauce and mix well.
  • Combine the cooked pasta with the cheese and bean mixture, then serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, top with additional cheese or chopped herbs before serving.
