A flavorful and creamy butter chicken recipe that's quick to prepare and perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 1 lb boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces

Dairy

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Vegetables & Aromatics

  • 1 onion onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated

Canned Goods

  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14 oz)

Spices

  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • salt to taste salt

Garnish & Serving

Instructions 

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Sauté onion until translucent, then add garlic and ginger, cooking 1-2 minutes.
  • Add chicken and cook until browned.
  • Stir in tomatoes, spices, and salt; cook for 5 minutes.
  • Pour in heavy cream, simmer 10-15 minutes until thickened.
  • Garnish with cilantro and serve over rice or with naan.

Notes

For a milder flavor, reduce chili powder; for extra richness, add a dollop of yogurt.
