Ingredients

Protein

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

Dairy & Oils

  • 2 tablespoons butter

Vegetables & Aromatics

  • 1 onion onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated

Spices & Sauces

  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 0.5 teaspoon turmeric
  • 14 oz tomato puree

Dairy & Sauces

  • 1 cup heavy cream

Seasonings

  • to taste salt

Garnish & Serve

  • fresh cilantro for garnish
  • cooked rice or naan for serving

Instructions 

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Sauté onion until translucent, then add garlic and ginger; cook 1 minute.
  • Add chicken and cook until no longer pink.
  • Stir in spices, then add tomato puree and simmer 10 minutes.
  • Stir in heavy cream, cook 5 minutes, season with salt, garnish, and serve.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the sauce simmer longer before adding cream.
