A hearty and comforting skillet dish combining seasoned ground beef, tender potatoes, and melted cheese for a quick family dinner.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend or substitute)

Vegetables

  • 12 small potatoes potatoes (Yukon Gold or red, diced)

Canned Goods

  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken or cheddar cheese soup)
  • ¾ cup milk (whole or preferred milk)

Cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or mix)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Salt

  • to taste salt

Garnish

  • Optional chopped parsley or chives (for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add diced potatoes to the skillet and cook for 15–20 minutes until fork-tender, adding water and covering if needed.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low, stir in soup and milk, and simmer for 3–5 minutes until creamy.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese on top, cover, and let sit for 2–3 minutes until melted.
  • Garnish with parsley or chives and serve directly from the skillet.

Notes

For a healthier option, use lean ground turkey or plant-based meat.
