Ingredients

Base

  • 12 cups tortilla chips
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 1 can black beans (15 oz can, drained and rinsed)
  • 1 cup cooked ground beef or shredded chicken

Toppings

  • 1 piece jalapeño (sliced)
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 0.5 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 piece avocado (diced)
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 0.25 cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 0.25 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 0.5 cup salsa

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Spread tortilla chips on a baking sheet and layer seasoned meat, beans, and cheeses.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese melts. Top with fresh avocado, sour cream, cilantro, green onions, and serve with salsa.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lime or hot sauce.
