A hearty and cheesy casserole combining noodles, meat sauce, and mozzarella for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Noodles

  • 8 ounces egg noodles (cooked according to package directions)

Meat

  • 1 pound lean ground beef

Vegetables & Spices

  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt

Sauce & Dairy

  • 24 ounces spaghetti sauce
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions 

  • Brown ground beef and onion in a skillet; drain fat.
  • Add spices and spaghetti sauce; mix well.
  • Mix cooked noodles, sour cream, and cottage cheese.
  • Layer half the noodles, meat sauce, and mozzarella in a sprayed casserole dish; repeat.
  • Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes; broil for 3-4 minutes if desired.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to ensure beef is cooked through.
