Ingredients

Chicken Burgers

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Toppings

  • 1 large avocado, peeled, seeded, and mashed
  • 4 slices provolone cheese, or your preferred type
  • 1/2 of a red onion, thinly sliced (or pickled red onion)
  • 4 leaves leafy green lettuce, washed and dried
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions 

  • Mix chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, oregano, pepper, and salt. Coat chicken with oil and seasoning.
  • Grill chicken for 3-5 minutes per side until 160°F. Cover to keep warm.
  • Mash avocado with lemon juice. Slice onion and prepare other toppings.
  • Place chicken on buns, add cheese, avocado, and toppings. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes before grilling.
