  • 3 pounds russet potatoes (peeled and sliced 1/8 inch thick)
  • 2 cups heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter option)
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 2 cloves garlic (freshly minced)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (or olive oil for a lighter touch)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
  • Layer sliced potatoes in the dish, seasoning with salt and pepper.

Notes
