Quick and easy steak fajitas made in the Instant Pot! Tender steak and flavorful vegetables cooked to perfection in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Flank steak, skirt steak, or sirloin steak (cut into strips)
  • 1 large onion (sliced)
  • 2 bell peppers ((various colors), sliced)
  • 1 packet fajita seasoning (or homemade equivalent)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Optional Toppings

  • guacamole
  • salsa
  • shredded cheese

Instructions 

  • Add olive oil to the Instant Pot and turn on the saute function.
  • Add the sliced steak and brown on all sides. This may need to be done in batches.
  • Remove the steak from the Instant Pot and set aside.
  • Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the Instant Pot and saute until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the fajita seasoning and beef broth to the Instant Pot. Stir to combine.
  • Return the steak to the Instant Pot.
  • Secure the lid and set the Instant Pot to manual/pressure cook on high for 8 minutes.
  • Allow for a natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
  • Open the Instant Pot carefully. If there is excess liquid, you can use the saute function to reduce it down.
  • Serve the steak fajitas immediately with your favorite toppings and warm tortillas.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
