A hearty and cheesy baked pasta dish featuring ground beef, marinara sauce, and melted cheddar cheese, perfect for a comforting family dinner.

penne pasta
Cheese

cheddar cheese, shredded
Meat

lean ground beef
Other ingredients

olive oil

onion, diced

garlic, minced

marinara sauce
To taste
salt & pepper

dried basil
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Cook penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain.
Heat olive oil, sauté onion 3-4 min, add garlic 30 sec.
Add ground beef, cook 6-7 min until browned, drain excess grease.
Mix in marinara, basil, salt, pepper; simmer 3-4 min. Combine with pasta.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Layer pasta mixture and cheese in a greased dish, bake 20 min covered, then 5-10 min uncovered.
Notes
For a richer flavor, add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese before baking.
