A delicious and easy-to-make casserole combining ravioli, meat sauce, and cheese for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Pasta and Meat

  • 2 packages refrigerated cheese ravioli
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 jars marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Additional

  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • for garnish Fresh basil leaves

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch dish.
  • Cook ground beef until browned, then add onions and garlic; cook until translucent.
  • Add marinara, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes; simmer 5 minutes.
  • Mix ricotta with 1 cup mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • Layer meat sauce, ravioli, cheese mixture, and remaining sauce in dish. Top with cheese.
  • Cover with foil, bake 25 mins, then uncover and bake 10-15 mins until bubbly. Rest 10 mins before serving.

Notes

You can substitute Italian sausage for extra flavor or add extra basil for garnish.
