Easy Healthy Broccoli Pasta

A quick and nutritious pasta dish featuring whole wheat pasta and fresh broccoli, perfect for a healthy meal.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 8 oz whole wheat pasta

Vegetables

  • 2 cups broccoli florets

Oils and seasonings

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 0.25 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 each lemon (juice of 1 lemon)

Instructions 

  • Cook pasta according to package; reserve 1/2 cup water, then drain.
  • Add broccoli to boiling water in last 3 minutes, then drain.
  • Heat olive oil, sauté garlic and red pepper flakes for 1 minute.
  • Add pasta and broccoli to skillet; toss, adding reserved water as needed.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice; toss to combine. Optional: sprinkle Parmesan before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes gradually to taste.
