A quick and nutritious pasta dish featuring whole wheat pasta and fresh broccoli, perfect for a healthy meal.
Ingredients
Pasta

whole wheat pasta
Vegetables

cups
broccoli florets
Oils and seasonings

tablespoons
olive oil

cloves
garlic, minced

teaspoon
red pepper flakes (optional)
to taste
salt and pepper

grated parmesan cheese (optional)

lemon
(juice of 1 lemon)
Instructions
Cook pasta according to package; reserve 1/2 cup water, then drain.
Add broccoli to boiling water in last 3 minutes, then drain.
Heat olive oil, sauté garlic and red pepper flakes for 1 minute.
Add pasta and broccoli to skillet; toss, adding reserved water as needed.
Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice; toss to combine. Optional: sprinkle Parmesan before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes gradually to taste.
