A comforting and easy-to-make shepherd's pie featuring ground turkey and a flavorful vegetable mash topping.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup carrots (diced)
  • 1 cup peas (frozen or fresh)
  • 1 cup corn kernels
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup chicken or turkey broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary

  • 3 cups mashed potatoes (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tbsp butter (optional)
  • ¼ cup milk (or a dairy-free alternative)

Topping

Instructions 

  • Sauté diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Add ground turkey and cook until browned.
  • Stir in carrots, peas, corn, tomato paste, broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Spread mashed potatoes over the cooked filling, top with grated cheese, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes until golden.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

You can substitute sweet potato mash for regular mashed potatoes for a healthier twist.
