A rich and cheesy side dish featuring thinly sliced potatoes baked in a creamy garlic cheese sauce.

unsalted butter, for greasing and layering

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
Slice potatoes thinly and mix cream, garlic, salt, and pepper.
Layer potatoes in dish, pour half of the cream mixture, and sprinkle with cheese. Repeat layers.
Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil last 15 minutes for golden crust.
Notes
For a crispier top, remove foil 10 minutes earlier.
