A delicious Italian-inspired baked pasta dish featuring cheesy stuffed manicotti shells baked in marinara sauce.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 12 pieces manicotti pasta shells
  • 3 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 0.75 cup grated parmesan cheese (divided)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch dish with olive oil.
  • Cook manicotti shells until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  • Mix ricotta, 1 cup mozzarella, ½ cup parmesan, egg, parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Spread 1 cup marinara in dish, fill shells with cheese mixture, and place in dish.
  • Top with remaining marinara, mozzarella, and parmesan. Cover and bake 30 mins, then uncover and bake 15 mins.

Notes

Let the manicotti rest for 5-10 minutes before serving for best results.
