A creamy, cheesy dish featuring tender sliced potatoes baked to perfection with a rich sauce and topped with herbs.
Ingredients
Potatoes

potatoes
(enough to fill the dish)

mozzarella
(shredded or chopped)

cheddar

cream

cups
milk

melted butter

tablespoons
flour

tsp
onion powder

tsp
garlic powder
to taste
salt
to taste

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter a baking dish.
Peel (optional) and thinly slice potatoes; layer in dish.
In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, then add milk and cream. Season and simmer until thickened.
Add cheese, stir until melted. Pour half sauce over potatoes, cover with foil, and bake 30 minutes.
Remove foil, pour remaining sauce, bake another 60 minutes until golden and tender.
Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For a richer flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or paprika to the sauce.
