Ingredients

Noodles

  • 9 pieces lasagna noodles

Meat

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb italian sausage

Cheese

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese

Other ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook noodles and prepare meat sauce.
  • Brown ground beef and sausage, add garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, then simmer with marinara.
  • Mix ricotta with egg and salt. Layer noodles, meat sauce, ricotta, and cheese in a baking dish.
  • Repeat layers, top with remaining cheese, cover, and bake for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 more minutes.
  • Let sit 10 minutes, garnish with basil if desired, then serve.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the lasagna rest before slicing.
