Enjoy a classic homemade Italian pizza with a flavorful sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil, baked to perfection.
Ingredients
Dough

Sauce

San Marzano tomatoes

Instructions
Activate yeast in warm water for 5 minutes, then mix with flour, salt, olive oil, and knead for 10 minutes. Let rise for 1 hour.
Simmer crushed tomatoes with garlic for 15 minutes to make the sauce.
Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone inside for 30 minutes.
Punch down dough, divide into two, roll out to 1/4-inch thickness, spread sauce, add cheese and basil.
Transfer to hot pizza stone or baking tray and bake for 12 minutes until crust is golden and cheese bubbly.
Notes
For a crispier crust, preheat the pizza stone thoroughly and avoid overloading toppings.
